SISH MUN 2014

DPS Sharjah sent a delegation to participate in SISH MUN 2014 held at Sishya Model School in Chennai. The delegation comprised of nine students and two teachers. Preparations for the MUN began almost a month back when selection for the conference was confirmed.

SISH MUN was an enriching experience with intense debates, intriguing points of information. Our students had the golden opportunity to listen to HE Masonori Nakano, the consul-general of Japan to India. His pearls of wisdom further instilled a lot of confidence and provoked curiosity in the minds of our students. The crisis management session enhanced problem solving skills and helped understand the importance of international Cooperation. Unhindered caucus allowed Dipsites to interact with students from different schools and to come together collectively and arrive at a common consensus on the current pressing issues. This in turn enhanced interpersonal communicational skills.

Students learned a great deal from SISH MUN. The MUN taught them the importance of negotiations and diplomacy in contemporary world and about the various social, political, environmental and economic issues prevailing in the world.

SISH MUN 2014 was one of the most successful MUNs in the history of DPS Sharjah. DPS Sharjah won the best outstation delegation award. Arushi Madan (UNEP), Pranjali Pandya (ECOSOC) and Rohan Chacko (HRC) won best FPS award and Vysakh Satheesh (ECOSOC) won best delegate award.
