DPS TEAMS EXCEL IN INDIAN HIGH SPORTS FESTIVAL

SWIMMING TEAMS WIN OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Our Swimming Girls and Boys (under 15 years) teams won the Overall Championships in the IHS Sports Festival held on 30^th April and 1^st May, 2013. Girls team consists of Lipika Vinjamuri, Gagana M.G, Calyn Ritchlyn, Sakshi Jacob, Srishti Jacob, Sraddha Sabu, Araditta Sunder Iyer, Janhavi D Virkarkar and Gabrielle Ivana won 3 Gold Medals, 5 Silver medals and 2 Bronze Medals to grab the Overall Championship.  Lipika Vinjamuri of Gr.9 won 3 gold medals and secured the Individual Championship in the Meet.

Our Boys team consisting of Samarth Sabu, Somesh Shanbhag, Rohith .K. Ranjith , Aaron Fernanes, Ruban .K. Bhatia,  Atharva Wadodkar, Sarvagya Gupta, Siddhant Chunchuwar and Tanish Chhabra won 5 gold medals, 5 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal to secure the overall Championship.

BASKETBALL GIRLS WIN

Our Basketball Girls under 15 years team won the Indian High School Dubai  Sports Festival by defeating the Gems Our Own English Dubai by 28- 26  in a closely contested finals. DPS defeated Gulf Indian High School Dubai by 40-10, Our Own English High School Sharjah by 48-28 and the host IHS Dubai by 32-14 before the Finals. Shweta Bhatia of Gr.9 secured the Best Player of the Tournament award.

TABLE TENNIS GIRLS WIN CHAMPIONSHIP

DPS Sharjah Table Tennis Girls (Under 15 years) performed exceedingly well by winning the Inter School tournament organized by the Indian High School Dubai on 28^th April, 2013. Our team consisting of Shraddha Surana of Gr.10, Sarah Elizabeth of Gr.10, Zainab Murtuza of Gr.9, Divya Shri Sankaran of Gr.8 and Stacey Allison of Gr.10 defeated Our Own Sharjah in the Semifinals and host IHS Dubai in the Finals to retain the Championship.

Principal Mrs Vandana Marwaha and other staff members congratulated the winning teams.
