The Scholar Badge ceremony is the most coveted
event in the school calendar of DPS Sharjah, with the prime
objective of acknowledging talent and promoting excellence in
academics. May 8, 2019 marked a significant day in the Academic
Session 2019-20 in DPS Sharjah. The students of Grade 8 K were
handed over the baton to start the day entrusted with the
responsibility of conducting the Scholar Badge Assembly.
The day of celebration commenced with the Morning Prayer trailed
by an inspiring thought for the day. The tone of the assembly
was set for the holy month of Ramadan with the theme of
Generosity, Charity and Responsibility. A soul stirring video
emphasizing the spirit of Ramadan touched everyone’s hearts. The
assembly was executed with finesse which won the appreciation of
the gathering.
The event embarked on the much awaited session, The Scholar
badge ceremony with great enthusiasm from the crowd which
included the recipients of the scholar badges and their proud
parents. It was indeed an honorable occasion to felicitate the
meritorious students of Grade 8 and 9 for their hard work and
perseverance.
The auditorium was filled with thunderous clapping when the
students with their blazer, three striped tie and certificate
marched towards the stage. The Vice Principal (Admin), Mr.
Rajeev Chandy, The Headmistress, Ms. Sunita Sadhu and the Senior
Supervisor, Ms. Prabha Sundar felicitated the students. The
flashes from camera lights illuminated the triumphant faces who
stood on the stage with our dignitaries. It was indeed a proud
moment for the parents who witnessed the accomplishment of their
wards’ achievements.
Our esteemed Vice-Principal, Mr. Rajeev Chandy addressed the
gathering and congratulated the students for their glorious
success and emphasized the importance of consistent effort in
the pursuit of excellence and motivated the students to continue
working assiduously. The exposition of talents ended with the
Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem of the UAE and
India.
