A little touch with the sense of patriotism
To honour the culture and heritage of our host country, DPS Sharjah in collaboration with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Institute of Business Management & Skill Development, Kochi, India organized an inter school quest for knowledge - MASTER LEADER QUIZ CHALLENGE-2017, on 29th November,2017, in the New Auditorium. Several schools from the different emirates of UAE, participated in this quest.
A mixed bag of intriguing and exciting questions related to UAE ‘s current affairs, science and technology, Environment, art and literature, general knowledge, audio round and rapid-fire round were posed by quiz master Mr. Vyshakh, Assistant Program Director and RJ Gold FM- Channel 4. The final round, the Rapid-fire round gave the teams a chance to catch up with UAE leaders too and this round put-up a tough fight.
A valedictory function was arranged in the school auditorium after the quiz. HE.Mr. Neeraj Agarwal, The Head of Chancery & Consul for (Press, Information, Culture, Protocol & RTI) of Indian consulate in UAE was the Chief Guest. Mr. Wilat Correya, Director, Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Institute of Business Management & Skill Development, Kochi, India, welcomed the guests and the delegates from the participating schools. He stressed the fact that bringing up the new gen kids in the lap of luxury doesn’t mean success, but it is determination and hard work that lead them to a true world of achievement.
HE Mr.Neeraj Agarwal, in his speech noted that it is because India and UAE work hand in hand that can give a boom in the economy of both the countries and that consulate is open for the suggestions of teachers and students in UAE which will surely set its mark with the international one.
On behalf of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Institute of Business Management & Skill Development, Kochi, India, HE Mr.Neeraj Agarwal, honoured Principal & Director, DPS Sharjah, Mrs.Vandana Marwaha for her unassailable contribution in the field of education. Ma’am in her valedictory speech mentioned that she believed that knowledge shared is knowledge doubled and this is the reason why DPS Sharjah periodically hosts various events and seminars thereby facilitating platforms for healthy exchange of knowledge and information and a real life connect. She also mentioned that the whole campus resonates with the 46th National Day celebrations for which the credit should be bagged by the event team led by its senior event supervisor, Ms.Sunita Sadhu.
Corporate world extended their whole-hearted support. Lulu Exchange –Sharjah and AHLAN Pure Water Bottling Company in Um Al Quwain were the supporting sponsors.
Senior event supervisor of the school, Ms. Sunita Sadhu and Ms. Chumki Sen Gupta, HoD Social Studies, were also honoured for their contribution to this event.
The following teams were declared winners of this quest challenge:
Second runner up- Our Own English High school, Sharjah
First runner up- Gulf Asian High school, Sharjah
Winner- Delhi Private School, Sharjah ".
On this day, DPS Sharjah was the hub of various entertainments showcasing the UAE culture and heritage. Fun packed events ranging from henna designing to display of food items were arranged in the classrooms of grades VI–X boys and girls.
