Today,
9 years from that fateful day,
From the 9/11 attacks.
The world is still at war,
Forgotten its promised pact.
Today,
9 years ago,
Hundreds of people were killed.
Yet their lives have not been forgotten,
For their talents, gifts and skills.
Today,
Just especially today,
Of all the other days,
For the anger and disdain to fade,
I ask you to pray.
Pray for the lives lost,
Pray for hurts to forgo,
Prays for the hate,
Shown and felt 9 years ago
