Scholar Badges are awarded to the top 10% students as an appreciation for their academic excellence. Those who are scholars (80% aggregate) for 7 consecutive years are honored with a gold medal, 6 consecutive years are awarded blue tie, 4 to 5 consecutive years blue badge, for three years green tie with blue stripes, and light green tie with green stripes for scholar for the first time.

The school also offers a system of recognizing the students for their astuteness and dedication shown towards the curriculums. This essentially means that they are rewarded for showing exemplary work in the field of computers, public speaking swimming, cricket, music, quizzing, art, regularity and compassionate personality

The Scholar Badge Ceremony for grades 9 -12 was a special occasion for all in the senior section when all recipients of the awards, proudly alighted the steps of the stage to proudly receive their awards from the Chief guest for the function, Mr.Suresh Kumar, CEO and Member of Board of Directors of Emirates NBD Capital Ltd. on the 12th of September in New Auditorium.

Scholar Badge Ceremony Middle School-2009


The scholar badge ceremony, a unique tradition of the DPS family, was organized in the New Auditorium of the school on 18 April, 09 in order to felicitate outstanding achievers of the academic year, 2008-09. Categories included excellence in academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Separate functions were held for boys and girls. The girls’ programme began with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by a dance based on the amalgamation of the five elements.

The Scholar Badge Ceremony for girls of grades 6,7 and 8 of the academic year 2007-2008 was held on 22nd May 2008 in the new auditorium.

The Chief Guest Mr. Thomas Mathew, Principal of Our Own English High school (boys), Sharjah, while congratulating the students said a student should learn from all possible sources and aim for the sky through hard work and perseverance.

The Scholar Badge Ceremony for the boys of grade 6 to grade 8 for the academic year 2007-2008 was held on 29th May 2008.Mrs.Dolly Goriawala graced the occasion and honored 261 students who were awarded the Scholar Badge this year. Congratulating all the students, Ms.Goriawala remarked that every student is a piece of marble sculpted by the teachers to perfection.


The Offg. Principal,Mrs. Vandana Marwaha highlighted the importance of consistent effort in the pursuit of excellence and motivated the students to continue working diligently.

Senior School Scholar Badge Ceremony 2008

(Boys & Girls Grade IX-XII)

The Senior School Scholar Badge Ceremony was held on the 15th of September in New Auditorium. In all 225 students were felicitated for their achievement not only in academics but also in sports and co-curricular activities. The highlight of the day was a special prize to Guruprasad Raghavan for winning the Sheikh Hamadan Award.

The Chief Guest for the day was none other than the Founder Principal of DPS,Sharjah, Mrs. Abha Sahgal who received a standing ovation from the guests and invitees. A computer presentation by Mr. Harish and Mr. Prasad took the gathering and especially Mrs. Sahgal back on the memory lane.

Scholar Badge 2007 (Senior School) - A Saga of Success

For more than 200 students from Grade 9 to 12 who worked their way to the top echelon of recognition and highest honour, it was a moment of fulfilment far exceeding their expectation as they proudly received the scholar badge title from the chief guest Dr. B. Ramjee Director, Mahe Manipal Duabi campus on September 9, 2007 at the DPS new auditorium. The occasion was further graced by the presence of a huge crowd of parents who did not want to miss the moment of glory in the life of their children.
