DPS Model United Nations( DPSMUN) , the first ever youth leadership program in the U.A.E, was set in motion in 2002 and hosted by DPS Sharjah. It has grown from an intra-school event to a mega inter-school event in six years. The MUN 2007 was attended by 180 delegates from 21 schools from GCC and Asian countries.

The students don the mantle of ambassadors of member nations and discuss, debate, and draft resolutions on contemporary issues like Eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and alternative development, Verification of Disarmament, Social Responsibility of the Private Sector, and so on.

The training session for the delegates held prior to the event offers the delegates a clear understanding of UN procedures and important terms such as drafts, resolutions and caucuses. Students from participating schools turn up for the mock session wearing their chosen country's traditional attire.

The Inaugural ceremony and the Closing Ceremony are attended by dignitaries from the Government, foreign services and international organizations like the UNDP.
