DPS, Sharjah has always believed in commending the students and inspiring them to scale greater heights. The Felicitation Ceremony was conducted on 30th May 2019 to honour the multitude of meritorious students of Grade XII who achieved academic excellence in the session 2018-19.

The event was graced by the respected Vice Principals, Ms. Chitra Raghavan and Mr. Rajeev Chandy, Headmistress of grade 11-12, Ms. Beena Rajeev, supervisors and teachers. The ceremony was witnessed by the proud parents of the achievers and the present grade XII students.

The event commenced with a special assembly presented by the students of 11G, by invoking the blessings of the almighty through the recitation of the Holy Quran. A tribute to Late, Adith Venkat, the former Head boy of DPS, Sharjah was presented through a soulful poem composed and recited by Heba of 11G, and a minute of silence was observed in his honor as well. This was followed by a song sung with great fervor by the students of 11G which uplifted the spirit and enthusiasm of the gathering.

The Vice Principal Admin, Mr. Rajeev Chandy expressed pride with the spectacular results of Grade XII. Exhorting the students to carry on with their pursuit of excellence, he congratulated the topper of the Commerce Stream (Soumaya Mittal with 97.4%), Science Stream (Siddharth Meenachi Sundaram) with 97%) and Humanities Stream (Rhea Bhatnagar with 94.8%).

The school choir rendered an energetic song ‘Kar Har Maidan Fateh’, which elicited inspiration of never giving up in the face of obstacles and was well appreciated by everyone for its message as well as entertainment. The Vice Principal Academics, Ms. Chitra Raghavan spoke of dedication and hard work which led to the success of the achievers of the academic year of 2018-19. She also stressed on the importance of hopes and aspirations and how they are the stepping stones on the path to success.

The event then took a turn to the much awaited moment, the felicitation ceremony. The students were presented with the trophies and certificates by our dignitaries on stage, the Vice Principals, Mr. Rajeev and Ms. Chitra, Ms.Beena Rajeev, the Headmistress, the Supervisors, Mr. Himanshu and Mr. Abu and the HR Manager, Ms.Sushma, for their meritorious performance. The auditorium was filled with the thunderous applause from the audience. The ceremony concluded with the chanting of the national anthems of India and the UAE.

The day was a very emotional and memorable one and will forever be etched in the minds of the students, teachers and parents who had strived together throughout the years for this tremendous success.
