A Cultural Fiesta: Reverberating with success

The much awaited Carnival, hosted by DPS Sharjah, staged at DPS Greens, finally unfolded on 11th December 2014. The day was indeed a fun filled one with games, entertainment, exciting prizes, mouthful of eats and above all a gala time with students from other schools, friends and dear ones.

This pulsating and electrifying cultural fest, which offers a new take on the concept of mentoring organisational and life skills in our students, is scripted by our Principal, Mrs Vandana Marwaha.

The annual fest, was inaugurated by Mr. Shantanu Banerjee, Assistant VP, Sales and Marketing, Orient insurance, in the morning session. The afternoon session for the Boys was declared open by our Principal, Mrs Vandana Marwaha.

The proceedings began with a mellifluous prayer. The day started with a Sports Gala that was held with all its usual vigour and enthusiasm in the school grounds. A plethora of innovative sports events for students, teachers and parents took place in which the contestants partook in the fun filled environment with spirit of competition and participation.

There were varieties of stalls ranging from games, handicrafts, plant nursery, eco-booth and many more. A very special segment catering to the community health was put up. Henna and face painting added glamour to the fiesta. To top it all was an array of mouth-watering eateries beckoning the crowd. “Arabic food corner” needs special mention as it was entirely managed by our Arabic teachers.

Furthermore, the musical melange offered by the Dipsites added exhilaration and kept the crowd entertained to the hilt. Adding to the excitement in the milieu, the request stall kept the crowd swaying as the event unwound, making the grounds reverberate with foot-tapping numbers.

The DPS Sharjah Carnival is a unique experience. Our Principal, Mrs Vandana Marwaha lauded the staff and students of DPS Sharjah for the immaculate planning and implementation which made this carnival a distinguished one. It will definitely be a standout memory in the hearts of all who were a part of the carnival.
