CREATING AWARENESS ON SOCIAL NETWORKING

As the popularity of social networking sites continues to grow, so do the security risks associated with them. Sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have become main targets for hackers. Because of the threat posed by cyber criminals, we have to take it upon ourselves to secure our social networking accounts.

Students of grades IX and X created awareness about Internet and social networking in their respective classrooms.

Students made posters and shared presentations in class highlighting the need for maintaining a good online reputation and steps one should take to maintain good online reputation. Also highlighted was the importance of safe downloading: How to stay safe and legal while enjoying entertainment online or via your mobile device.

In all classes emphasis was given to the advantages of personal interactions over social networking.
