On 30^th April, 2014, DPS Sharjah witnessed a fervent ceremony, where the institution formally appointed the newly formed school cabinet. The chief guests of the event were His Excellency, Mr. T.P. Seetharam, Ambassador of India to UAE, Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi and Mrs. Deepa Seetharam.

Dr.Tiju Thomas Consul (Economic & PIC) Consulate General of India, Dubai; Mr. Ali Khayal, Director, DPS Sharjah LLC; Mr. Niranjan Gidwani, Deputy CEO, EROS; Mr. Sudhakar Gupta, Director International Business Development, IIFCO, Sharjah; Mr. Raman Marwaha, Vice President, IL & FS; Mr. K. R. Radhakrishnan Nair, Chairman of Gulf Council & Principal of Sharjah Indian School; Ms. Suchitra  Chaudhary Gulf News; Mr Muaz Shabandri,  Khaleej Times also added colour to the event with their august presence.

The ceremony started off with an invocation by reading out the verses of the Holy Quran as the day unfolded with a promise for a brighter future. This was followed by the National Anthems of UAE and India.

Our DPS Sharjah vocalist, Abirami Ajay, took the audience into the depths of symphony with a perfect blend of the saptaswaras.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the auspicious lamp by our Chief Guests His Excellency, Mr. T.P. Seetharam, Mrs Deepa Seetharam and our revered Principal Mrs Vandana Marwaha.

In her welcome address, our illustrious Principal, Mrs Vandana Marwaha, welcomed the Chief Guest and other honourable guests. She expressed her gratitude and said that it was an honour to have guests of such stature amidst us. Ma’am congratulated the entire DPS Sharjah family for the astounding achievements of the school, which is the certification of the admirable strides DPS Sharjah has made in every field. She also stated that she personally feels that leaders must be good followers - followers of ideals, followers of honesty and integrity. Her speech induced inspiration and motivation in the hearts of the newly-invested prefects and ignited in them an enthusiasm to take up their responsibilities.

The typical daily activity of a dipsite was depicted through an innovative video clip which gave a glimpse and insight of our school to the guests.

It was a very proud moment for our Hamdan and Sharjah Awardees as they were felicitated by His Excellency, Mr. T.P. Seetharam on this occasion.

It was a sight to savour, watching the elegantly dressed newly appointed office bearers beaming with pride and self-confidence as they were given a red carpet welcome. The Prefects walked up to the dais to accept the badges of responsibility from the honourable Chief Guest.

In his speech, honourable Chief Guest, His Excellency, Mr. T.P. Seetharam, Ambassador of India to UAE, Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi, reminded the new  Prefectorial board of their duties and responsibilities. He emphasized that effective communication is very important tool for success and advised the students that they should dream big and aspire to become world leaders. The gript attention, with which he was heard, depicted the seriousness and sincerity of the newly appointed Prefectorial Board.

Once all the office bearers had received their badges and the sashes, began the solemn affair of taking the Oath which was administered by the Chief Guest after which the Head Boy, Deepayan Roy and the Head Girl, Eehita chhabra delivered their maiden speeches.

The Vice Head Boy and the Vice Head Girl proposed the vote of thanks.

The coronation of the new team of leaders was a regal observance at DPS Sharjah.
